According to a poll conducted by the A1Plus Information Agency among 560 of its readers, the majority of Armenians believe that during the upcoming parliamentary elections in May, intelligence will not be the most important attribute of parliamentary candidates. The surveyed were asked to answer the question of what will a candidate running for Parliament require in order to win, to which 48 percent responded “money”. About a third (30%) of the polled believed that a successful parliamentarian needs powerful backing, while 10 percent said that having the confidence of the electorate will prove important. Only eight percent of those surveyed thought that high intelligence will be needed to win a seat.
