Iran-Khodro to Assemble Samand Cars in Belarus

Iran-Khodro Industrial Group Managing Director Manuchehr Mantaqi and his counterpart at the Belarussian Yunison Company signed an agreement on 6 February to assemble Samand cars in Belarus, Iranian.ws reported the following day. Annual production capacity is projected at 6,000 cars, with this number set to increase to 60,000, Mantaqi added. Production is scheduled to begin in April. Iran-Khodro Deputy Director Alireza Mirzaie said the company’s exports (including vehicles, parts, and technical and engineering services) stood at $115 million in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, which began 21 March. Mirzaie predicted that exports could top $200 million by the end of the year. (www.iranian.ws February 7)
