Armenia and Georgia to Resume Negotiations on Border Demilitarization

Discussions between Georgia and Armenia on demilitarizing and demarcating their border are to resume soon, the heads of the countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs revealed at a meeting in Kiev, reported News Georgia on February 14. The sides also discussed increasing bilateral relations in areas of economics, trade, transportation, investment, and humanitarian issues with special attention placed on the completion of regional projects, according to the news source. Questions of peacefully resolving regional conflicts were also reviewed. The meeting occurred under the framework of the organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation, where the ministers of foreign affairs of member countries met with their counterparts from European Union nations in a special meeting in Kiev on 13 and 14 February.
