BELARUS: 2008 Budget of the Union State Determined

According to Belta information agency, the 2008 budget of the Russia-Belarus Union State will be five billion Russian Rubles (RUB). As reported by the news source, this was announced at a press conference by the Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodyn, who was attending the Slavyanskiy Bazzar cultural festival in Belarus. Most of the budgetary resources will be directed towards implementation of joint industrial projects, such as agricultural engineering and diesel automobile construction, the news source cited Borodyn as saying.

The 2008 budget will be confirmed at the Fall parliamentary session of the Union State. In 2007, the Union State’s budget was 4.3 billion RUB.
