According to a poll conducted by A1Plus information agency, 78 percent of Armenians believe that the country’s existing opposition groups should unite and nominate a joint candidate in the 2008 presidential elections, allowing him/her to draw more considerable votes from the population. The impact of such a strategy on the final vote was questioned by 14 percent of the surveyed, while seven percent thought the opposition would fare better with multiple candidates.
