BELARUS: Poll: Lukashenka Still Standing Strong

According to a sociological poll conducted in May by the Independent Institute of Social-Economic and Political Research (IISEPR), registered in Lithuania, despite the “gas conflict” with Russia, the Byelorussian President still enjoys the support of the majority of the country’s population, with 48 percent of respondents saying that they would vote for him in the next presidential elections and 57 percent casting their vote of confidence for him, reported Telegraph, citing the poll results. The poll also showed that the majority of Byelorussians (65.5%) believe that in the near to mid-future the stability in the country will continue.
