Minsk and Tehran are discussing the possibility of cooperating around the construction of hydro power stations on the territory of Belarus, announced the First Deputy General Director of Belenergo Alexander Sivak, reported Belta.
Sivak noted that the negotiations are mainly concentrated on the construction of the Grodnenskiy and Polotskiy hydro stations, but also stressed that the final decision will be made based on the results of an international tender.
Before 2010 Belarus plans to build a 17 megawatt (MW) power plant in Grodnensk and two 23 MW electric plants at Neman and Polotsk, on the Western Dvina river.
