The government of Armenia announced its resignation a day after the untimely decease of Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan. The decision was made in accordance with the country’s Constitution during an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by the President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, reported Panarmenian. The Constitution stipulates that the president is expected to appoint a new prime minister 10 days after the government’s resignation. The government is to be formed within 20 days after the new prime minister’s appointment.
Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan reportedly died from a heart attack in the afternoon of March 25.
