American Business Leaders Call on George Bush Not to Recognize Armenian Genocide

100 leading U.S. entrepreneurs, including Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, sent a letter to President George Bush petitioning him against recognition of the Armenian Genocide. As reported by Panarmenian.net, in their letter, the American business leaders expressed their fears that recognition of the Armenian Genocide may dramatically damage United States’ relations with Turkey. It would also hinder reconciliation between Turkey and Armenia, said the business leaders.
The Armenian Genocide resolution was introduced in the U.S. Congress in January 2007. Over the last few weeks, more than 170 members of Congress have cosponsored this resolution, and the stance of the democratic majority makes its adoption a real possibility. If passed by Congress, the resolution cannot be vetoed by the President.
