Russia to Develop Armenia’s Air Defense System

According to the Commander in Chief of Russian Air Force Vladimir Mikhailov, Russia will provide assistance to Armenia in developing the latter’s anti-air defense system.  “We are glad with the air defense system currently existing in Armenia, however, we will still provide additional assistance, including through the 102nd Russian military base, currently stationed in Armenia”, reported podrobnosti.ua on February 15, quoting Mikhailov. The announcement was made during a meeting of the Air Defense Issues Coordination Committee members at the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS countries.
2007 marks 12 years since the establishment of the joint anti-air defense system of CIS countries, added General Mikhailov.
