Belarus and Russia are drafting an intergovernmental agreement on mutual supplies of military products in wartime, Deputy Chairman of the Russia-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov stated on February 27 at a seminar of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Pskov, reported BELTA. According to the source, the agreement is drafted at the initiative of the Belarusian side, since the current Belarusian-Russian agreement of 1994 on mutual supplies of military spare parts and equipment has already expired. “The [new] agreement is of a multi-sided format bearing in mind the fact that it will later be signed also by all members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization”, BELTA cited Vladimir Drozhzhov as saying. According to him, the document has already been considered by all CSTO countries and will be included in the agenda of the meeting of the Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation, scheduled for March 2007 in Moscow.
