Band of Avengers Operates in Abkhazia

A band of avengers ravages the Gali region of Abkhazia and calls itself the Group of Georgian Patriots, reported Novoye Russkoye Slovo (NRS). In the course of two days the band had set fire to 12 houses of the local population, reported the source, citing the Rustavi-2 TV station. The cars of those homeowners were also destroyed. Affected villages include Otobaya, Bargebi, Nabakevi and Chuburkhinji.

The avengers’ violence is directed towards those Georgians and Abkhaz who cooperate with the authorities in Sokhumi and pressure the locals to participate in Abkhaz elections, informed NRS. “There are Georgian traitors who are sponsored by the Abkhaz and Russian secret services. They, together with Abkhaz militias would go door to door and pressure the Georgians to vote in elections. Let them know that there is a price to be paid for betraying their Motherland,” announced one of the avengers, who appeared masked on Rustavi-2 TV, reported NRS.
