Iranian Ambassador: Kazakhstan and Iran Increase Oil Swaps

The Iranian ambassador to Kazakhstan, Ramin Mehmanparast, in an interview with IRNA said that his country and Kazakhstan will increase threefold the volume of its oil swaps, iran.ru reported on 22 May. “An agreement to increase the amount of oil swaps has already been reached, and now Iranian companies have begun to fulfill these agreements,” he said. According to Mehmanparast, oil swaps with Kazakhstan last year reached 1.4 million tons, and in 2006 will be 4.2 million tons. (www.iran.ru, May 22)
