Government Employee Wage Arrears Top $196.1 Million

President Viktor Yushchenko told a press conference on 12 April that the Ukrainian government currently owes state employees more than 1 billion hryvnia, or $196.1 million, korrespondent.net reported the same day. The president noted that going concerns employ half of the workers owed money, which should ensure that the debt is paid off. (www.korrespondent.net, April 12)
