Uzbekistan to Sign $1 Billion Production Sharing Deal with Gazprom

Uzbekistan’s national energy company Uzbekneftegaz will sign a production sharing agreement worth $1 billion with Russian gas giant Gazprom in March 2006, vesti.uz reported on 7 December, citing Uzbekneftegaz deputy head Shavkat Majidov. The agreement will entail developing gas fields in Uzbekistan’s northwestern Ustyurt Plateau.
